There appears to be 14, maybe 16 segments (7 or 8 on each side) of the corset - though my personal experience making corsets suggest it's probably only 5 panels, and the additional boning channels give the appearance of more seams.
I've heard the corsets were worn backwards/upside down - and you can clearly see the metal
