Denton Patch

This is a replica of the Denton patch made on my super-mega embroidery machine. The fabric is a poly-cotton twill, and there is a light iron-on backing to help position it on the jacket (but it still needs to be stitched down for permanence). It's 3½" across and I usually have these "in stock"!

Updated photo - I started using a darker green soon after the initial batch.  I'll leave the original photo posted so there's no confusion about what changed.  This is the design I've been selling since around 2011.

  1. I was looking at the movie this weekend, particularly during rain scene. It might be my print but I don't think the tree is colored in in green. I wonder if it was colored in for the DVD or something. Or if they had a different jacket for when he was inside.

  2. Yeah, you'd think they would have multiple jackets because of the rain scene (his clothes sure did dry off quickly!) But the water could also be making the green thread impossibly dark.

My problem with the jacket Bostwick wore at SinsCon is the font size is noticeably smaller and doesn't go close to the edge, and even in the rain scene you can see that.

  4. It might be a couple weeks - I'm out of town right now, and when I get home I have to order a part to fix my machine :(

Also, I think I'll make a version with a darker green.

  5. I know I am way late to this, but maybe the letters should be bold? the dots on either side of the date look like they should be smaller than the width of the 1.
Also it looks like the tree doesn't hold fruit.there are just a couple squiggly lines. Unsure on the colors because I am pretty sure the color of my image is off.

  6. Fonts are very hard. I can't import the text as part of the graphic because it won't maintain the stitch direction with the letter's shape - so I'm limited to the fonts that my software reads (and that I have). Tiny features usually get omitted by the software as well. There's only so much I can do without spending thousands on better software, and modifying a design stitch by stitch (this design has 9,612 stitches).

The best screen shot I have is from the "Madison" line, but I can't discern squiggles vs. fruit blobs. I don't have any other photos in my collection that would clarify this, and I don't know the provenance of the jacket that turned up at the 25th so I'm reluctant to refer to that as a primary source.

I do use a darker green for the tree now, so I really should update the picture. If you know of any photos - I'd be glad to post them and credit you.

  8. I'm going to try to load some on the machine this weekend. Best way is to email me at SewEccentric@yahoo.com to make sure you get notified when they're ready.
